Hello, world — planting the first pixel

Every studio starts somewhere. Ours starts with a tiny sprout, a dark little device with a friendly face, and a simple idea: Android apps do not have to be bloated, noisy, or hungry for your data to be good.

Bloomix Labs is a one-person-sized studio with a one-sentence mission — grow small, delightful apps, drawn pixel by pixel. The name is exactly what it sounds like: things that bloom, made of pixels.

> WHAT WE ARE WORKING ON

• ■ Recall — a notification history app, for every message you swiped away a second too soon.
• ■ RetroCalc — a calculator that feels like the chunky pocket calculators of 1989, minus the dead batteries.

> THE RULES WE BUILD BY

One job per app. Everything on-device. No ads, no trackers, no accounts. If a feature does not serve the app's one job, it does not ship. It is a short list of rules, but we intend to keep every one of them.

Both apps are getting their final coat of pixels now and are coming soon to Google Play. Watch this space — the garden is just getting started.
